Listen to Grace Falls

This is one in a series of three songs with drum beats on this album which were written entirely using my classic Casio WK-1300 keyboard...beats and all. (Classic being a relative term, of course...I say classic, you say old cheap starter keyboard for kids that doesn't even utilize the cool old school Casio sounds...semantics!)

(See also "The Queen Will Save Herself" and "The Lion & the Elephant.")

I am a firm believer in the power of limitations. I think it's good to set parameters around a project to help guide it and inspire creativity. In this case, my guidelines
were to write only what I could play live, solo, and ONLY using that Casio keyboard and, possibly, my Digitech reverb pedal.

It's a simple song, but I like that about it. There's an innocence and sweetness that comes through in the music that contradicts the sadness and loss contained within the lyrics. This will always be one of my personal favorites.
